LOTD: TAINTED LOVE

March 28, 2016

Today's look of the day has got to be one of my favourites I've ever put together. When I ran my own clothing brand I used to put Outfit's of the Day together all the time but I felt I needed to push all the items I was selling constantly. I did enjoy my own brand but I also love the freedom to express the love I have for other brands and what they produce.

This outfit is called Tainted Love, the T-shirt explains why.

I've been captured by the brand 'Fear of God' recently and enjoy following the 3 year old brands progress. Fear of God's, Jerry Lorenzo, has recently just created 15 styles for Justin Biebers "purpose" tour. A like to Justin, I also love the nineties inflected streetwear styles of Lorenzo's work. Lorenzo reworked some old band merchandise to mix in with the 15 styles, I've always loved oversized vintage band t-shirts and forever hunt charity/vintage shops for hidden gems. Lorenzo used one of Marilyn Manson's merchandise designs as one of the main images for the t-shirt below. As I wanted to create a similar Fear of God esk vibe I've gone for this Marilyn Manson T-shirt from Applified for just £19.99. Funnily enough I'm actually a fan of Manson and Bieber's music so that tour T-shirt would go down extremely well in my wardrobe.

I've layered this T-shirt with a Hannah Beth Fincham bespoke jacket called "Courtney Love". I think the jacket is extremely fitting considering it's name but also because it's just simply stunning. This jacket will set you back £350 but the whole jacket is hand crafted by the designer herself so you can't really ask for anything better than that. The rose detailing runs down each arm and has a stunning back feature that says "I'm the architect of my own disaster".

I've gone with these simple light blue Joni Jeans from Topshop for £38. Joni Jeans are some of the most comfortable jeans due to being high waisted so you don't have to keep pulling them up every 2 seconds. I've gone for some Joni's with holey knees to go with the 90s grunge inspired look.

UNIF is ultimately one of my favourite brands so I tend to feature their items regularly. I've gone for their Kade Backpack which you can now pick up from ASOS, and if you are a premier account holder like me you can order it and it will be with you the next day. The Backpack is £105 and Faux Leather so perfect for you Vegan's out there.

Regal Rose have recently brought out a beautiful new collection "A Dark Lure". To tie in the roses of the "Courtney Love" Jacket I've accessorised with the"Rest in Peace. Black Mother of Pearl Rose Choker". You can pick up this choker for just £28 and it also comes in black.

I spotted these Calhoun-3 Jeffrey Campbell booties on Nasty Gal a few weeks back and fell in love straight away. These are the top of my wishlist at the moment and what better shoes to suit this whole outfit. They are available on Nasty Gal and the Jeffrey Campbell website but watch out as you might be paying some custom chargers if your buying from the UK. It is worth it though.

I've added some vampy make up features to finish off the look. I think a really natural face, nude eye colours and simple black mascara will compliment the deep red of "Wicked"  by Lime Crime. "Wicked" is one of Lime Crime's matte velvetine lip colours. I've added in Chanel's Black Velvet nail varnish to give your nail's a sleek by grungy look.
