When I used to run my blog for my clothing brand I'd put together 'outfit's of the day' and mix up my pieces with other brands I loved. I get to style a lot of photoshoots for work which is always great fun. If you've ever met me I do wear a lot of black and perhaps don't style my outfits as much as I'd like too. Two reasons. One, money doesn't grow on trees and secondly when I roll out of bed in the mornings I do a Mark Zuckerberg/ Karl Lagerfeld moment, where I feel my brain should focus on the work ahead and not spend an hour on what I look like. However when I can I love to experiment with my clothes and create outfits through browsing brands online and in magazines.
Here's my first instalment of my 'Look of the Day' on sixsix6.
You might have seen my recent post about my discovery of Lip Perlees by Lime Crime. This "mirage" baby pink shade really added the girly highlight I needed for one of my black on black outfits. I currently work at Drop Dead Clothing, which, in my opinion, is one of the best brands coming out of the UK at the moment. I work within the marketing and PR department at Drop Dead, where I am blessed to work with some of the most creative, passionate people I've ever met. I couldn't not add a Drop Dead piece into my outfit as I practically live in the brand now, I've gone for Drop Dead's guys Avalanche Waffle Knit Jumper which I have in a Medium and wear oversized. You can never go wrong with a pair of black skinny jeans on with a couple distressed knee holes, I actually find them way more comfortable with holey knees. These jeans are the MOTO Ripped Cain Premium Jeans from Topshop.
I wanted to try and add a bit of colour to the outfit so I've layered this outfit with the "Lone Rider" Leather Jacket by Goldie at Topshop. The jacket is 100% Polyester so if you are vegan and fancy the leather look, this is one of the best looking coloured leather jackets out there. Pin Badges are everywhere at the moment, I spotted Nasty Gal had an incredible leather jacket covered in pin badges but I think it's more fun to deisgn your own. Firstly I've added the Drop Dead Buzzing Pin Badge. I've also featured pin badges from Rose Hound Apparel featuring a pink wig, a rosy cigarette packet and of course Leo. This pin is an ode to Leo finally winning his well-deserved Oscar.
I've accessorised this outfit with the "Dolla & Dream Black Fringe Shoulder Bag" from LaModa. I've recently had the pleasure of working with LaModa on a shoot where I got to style up 5 competition winners using Drop Dead and LaModa items. The shoot turned out better than I could of imagined and by using LaModa's accessories it really showed how you could girly up some Drop Dead items.
Statement necklaces always jazz up for one of my black on black outfits. I am inspired by the styling of the owner of jewellery brand Dylanex, I'm sure to do a post on her soon. I've decided to go with the "Thorn. Deathly Rose Labradorite Choker" from Regal Rose. Drop Dead worked with Regal Rose on a collaboration collection designed by Tattoo artist, Hannah Sykes owner of Black Stabbath. Hannah is one of most talented, beautiful human beings I know and of course she created a stunning collection. We've kept a great relationship with Rebecca and Louisa of Regal Rose and they are some of my favourite people I've met through working with Drop Dead.
To end my outfit I've gone for one of my favourite brands, UNIF. I am yet to own the "DWBH Boot's" but one day, just one day I'll think fuck it and go on a massive splurge.
